Damjan Begović was born in Kotor in 1992. There he began his music education at the Music School “Vida Matjan” in the class of Goran Turkalj. He continued his secondary music education at the Music School “Vatroslav Lisinski” in Belgrade in the class of Ljubiša Jovanović.

Damjan later graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana in the class of Jože Kotar. After completing his undergraduate studies, Damjan received a scholarship from the Swiss government, through the Erasmus Program, and studied for a year with Paolo Beltramini in Lucerne. After finishing his studies, he returned to Ljubljana to get his master’s degree. After completing his master’s studies, he enrolled for further studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Veljko Klenkovski, finishing with the highest grades.

Damjan has won first and second prizes at numerous national and international competitions. As for the chamber music category, he won a special award at the 35th Festival of Young Musicians of Montenegro. He has played in various Belgrade ensembles, including the “Bruno Brun” clarinet orchestra and the prize-winning quintet clarinets “Barbusi” and “Tokarev”. He has performed in numerous concerts in Montenegro and the wider region. He is a member of the brass band “Gradska muzika” in Kotor. He has participated in master classes under the likes of Ante Grgin, Ljubiša Jovanović, Veljko Klenkovski, Aleksandar Tasić, Ognjen Popović, Mateo Bekavac, Bruno di Girolamo, Francois Benda, Milan Reirhe, and Jože Kotar. As a soloist he performed with the “ZORT” youth orchestra of Belgrade and the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie.

He is employed as the second clarinetist and bass clarinetist in the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra and teaches clarinet at the Music School “Vida Matjan” in Kotor.
